Individual Therapy

My approach to individual therapy uses a blend of narrative therapy and attachment research. I incorporate tools from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic exercises so that people can reconnect with their own internal voice and personal values.

Family Therapy

In family therapy, I use a combination of narrative and structural therapy that is grounded in attachment and family systems theory to help families develop a new story. Experiential exercises are also incorporated to disrupt old patterns and explore new ways of relating to each other.

Couples Therapy

My approach to couples therapy is Gottman-informed. This typically involves an initial assessment (Gottman Relationship Check Up), followed by an individual session with each partner before meeting to establish goals. I use a narrative approach to help couples explore what stories have shaped their relationship and decide what is meaningful together.

Online Therapy

I have telehealth services available for individuals, couples, and families across the state of Arizona.

  • "Sonora is a compassionate, aware therapist whose approach to hoarding is both kind and unique. She weaves in family work and a fierce, nonjudgmental care that this population rarely receives. I recommend her without hesitation to anyone seeking support."

  • "Sonora is compassionate, approachable, and engaging. She has a gift for helping individuals and families work through difficult topics with openness and care, fostering connection even when conversations are challenging."

  • “Sonora is one of the few practitioners in the Phoenix metro area specializing in the complex and often misunderstood challenges of hoarding disorder. I appreciate her systemic and attachment-based approach and her compassion as she clearly recognizes the isolation and disconnection individuals and their families struggling with hoarding disorders often experience. I highly recommend her to those seeking specialized, relationship-centered care.”
